The client is looking for a Software Engineer who specializes in cloud development to participate in bringing their surgical planning system to the next level.

The Preoperative planning team is responsible for developing the applications that generate plans for robotically guided surgery. The system is principally used by the case planner and the surgeons. The system’s main functionality is the creation of a 3D representation of the bone, helping the surgeons plan the surgery and the connectivity between the different systems. We are a very flexible team that favors interaction and communication. The client develops, manufactures, and markets the only active robotic surgical systems for orthopedic surgery.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

– 6+ years of Object-oriented programming experience, ideally in Python.

– Extensive experience in backend or Webserver development, ideally web applications.

– Experience with Python, Docker and Postgres.

– Excellent communication and great ability to collaborate.

– Motivation to create reusable, scalable and clean code.

– Experience with AWS.

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience with infrastructure as code (i.e. CDK or Cloudformation).

– Experience with Lambdas, AppSync, Route53, Docker, ECR, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, CodePipeline and CodeBuild, Cognito, CloudWatch and CloudTrail

– Understanding AWS security configuration best practices, and methods for verifying secure configurations.

– Serverless and GraphQL experience.

– Experience with Golang.

– Experience with SQL and NoSQL.

– 1-3 years of experience in the medical device industry or related field.

– Experience with Server, Microservices, and Serverless applications.

– Experience with Linux, git, and CI/CD.

– Experience in iterative development.

Job Responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop the infrastructure of the cloud by maintaining the current infrastructure, and adding new services in CDK Code.
• Help the team design, develop, and deliver meaningful back-end feature sets:
  
  
  

– Introduce an observer/subscription mechanism in the application, to make the Data in the Frontend application more up-to-date, and prevent it from pulling the backend

– Configuration, updates, and deployment of docker containers.

– Improve Backend/Lambdas development efficiency

– Improve Golang database unit tests

• Support our application into production, including establishing a backup and restore strategy, Disaster, and Recovery, Monitoring and Logging.
• Actively contribute to improving our systems and evolving our infrastructure: storage management, automation with infrastructure as code, and reliability on AWS
• Deploy web-enabled technologies on cloud service providers in a secure and regulated environment.
