Role summary:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Finance Manager to lead and optimize financial operations at our distribution company in Kyiv, Ukraine. This role includes stock and cash management, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth through effective financial planning and control. The position is intended to address the unique dynamics of the Ukrainian market and the specific requirements of a distribution-focused business.

Key responsibilities:

Financial planning and analysis

• Preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
• Generate and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, emphasizing key trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Conduct variance analysis between budgeted and actual performance, identifying gaps and proposing corrective actions.

Financial control and compliance

• Ensure compliance with Ukrainian financial regulations, tax codes, and IFRS.
• Maintain robust internal financial controls to prevent fraud and ensure data accuracy.
• Oversee internal and external audits, implementing recommendations to strengthen compliance.

Cash flow and working capital management

• Monitor and manage cash flow to support operational stability and growth.
• Establish policies to optimize cash flow, including credit management, collections, and payment processes.
• Evaluate inventory, procurement, and distribution costs to maximize financial efficiency.

Strategic financial support

• Support the General Director by providing financial insights for decisions and market expansion.
• Conduct financial modelling to evaluate the feasibility of new projects and partnerships.
• Advise on capital investments, cost control initiatives, and other strategic financial projects.

 Tax and regulatory management

• Oversee tax planning, compliance, and filings in accordance with Ukrainian tax laws.
• Keep current on local and international regulations impacting the distribution industry, implementing necessary changes.
• Build and maintain relationships with tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Risk management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks related to currency, credit exposure, and other market fluctuations.
• Implement financial risk management policies, including hedging strategies when applicable.
• Maintain relationships with financial institutions to ensure reliable access to resources.

Your profile:

Required qualifications

• Strong expertise in auditing, accounting, and FP&A, with proven experience in financial controlling.
• English proficiency is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. 
• At least 3–5 years in financial management within the distribution, FMCG, or beverage industry in Ukraine or Eastern Europe.
• Ability to work with specialized computer programs designed for data analysis and calculation (1C Enterprise and Excel (working with databases).
• Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required.

Key competencies and skills

• Advanced knowledge of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Strong understanding of Ukrainian financial regulations, tax laws, and IFRS.
• High proficiency in financial analysis, with a talent for translating data into actionable insights.
• Excellent leadership with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving mindset.
