Description

The client is a US manufacturer of smart beds, being a market leader in this segment. Client’s cutting-edge IoT platform collects user’s sleep data and biometrics during the night, gets insights from user’s sleep patterns and provides recommendations through the mobile app on how the sleep quality can be improved. This way, the smart bed ecosystem improves the way people sleep and recreate, and as a result, improves their overall life quality. The main features of the solution are:

• Tracking personal sleep data during the night
• Individual comfort and temperature balancing
• Comfort adjustability on each side of the bed
• Mobile app providing sleep statistics and recommendations on how the sleep quality can be improved
  
  
  

The project is related to developing state of the art sensor technology, data processing algorithms, involving data science and machine learning.

Requirements

Must have:

• At least 5+ years of software development experience with 1 to 2 years in cloud development
• Java, OOP, Concurrency, Design Patterns, Dependency Injection
• Junit (or other unit testing framework), Mockito
• Distributed Patterns (Caching, Transactions, Message queues, Partitioning, Sharding)
• Scaling Application under load (Partitioning, Sharding)
• Microservices in-depth (scaling, transactions, session handling)
• Experience with high traffic applications and IO throughput
• Solid experience with Relational Databases (e.g., SQL and JDBC) and Non-Relational Databases (e.g., Cassandra, etc)
• AWS (e.g., ECS, S3, Lambdas, SQS, SDK)
• Solid experience with REST APIs
• Great communication skills are a must
  
  
  

Nice to have:

• Expertise in Kafka
• Good understanding of Distributed caching solutions like Hazelcast
• Working experience with distributed frameworks
• Good understanding of statistical code analysis and code quality measurement tools like Sonar, Jacoco, etc.
• Good understanding of CI/CD concepts with experience in end-to-end automation
• Experience with Build Tools (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Docker), version control (Git)
• The application server/container configuration management and application deployment (Tomcat, Jboss, etc)
• Experience with Production and Performance Troubleshooting Tools (e.g., ELK, Splunk, Wireshark, jConsole, HeapAnalyzer, jMeter, Java profiler (e.g., VisualVM, JProfiler, YourKit))
