Operations Manager – Fintech

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a fast-growing international fintech group operating across Europe, Canada.
This role involves overseeing and optimizing day-to-day operations across multiple licensed entities in the digital assets and online payments space, ensuring regulatory compliance and cross-departmental efficiency.
This is a senior role with high visibility and impact. You will not only lead operations and compliance but also play a pivotal role in coordinating with sales, support, legal, and payment teams to drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Manage and align workflows across departments: Customer Success, Compliance, Payments, Legal/Regulatory, Sales, and Marketing.
- Act as the central escalation point for all operational issues.
Customer Support
- Lead and structure a scalable support team focused on timely case handling and escalation.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and quality control.
Compliance & Risk
- Supervise the post-transaction compliance team and improve workflows.
- Respond to regulatory and law enforcement requests across jurisdictions.
- Ensure all CRM entries and compliance records are maintained per local regulatory standards.
Payments & Banking
- Monitor banking and EMI onboarding progress in coordination with the payments team.
- Oversee forecasting for account openings and assist with resolving onboarding issues.
Legal & Regulatory
- Guide the setup and updates of corporate entities in alignment with local legislation.
- Oversee audit preparation and regulatory submissions in cooperation with external advisors.
Marketing & Branding
- Collaborate on campaign implementation and ensure consistent branding across platforms.
- Offer input on website structure and UX for new markets or service rollouts.
Sales Enablement
- Join strategic sales calls, support affiliate management, and review client feedback.
- Track KPIs and ensure volume growth and client retention targets are met.
Governance & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure company operations align with evolving regulatory requirements across all operational markets.
- Identify and mitigate business risks.
Operational Excellence
- Design and roll out standard operating procedures (SOPs) across departments.
- Review department KPIs and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
Forecasting & Reporting
- Analyze operational performance, forecast company growth, and adapt resourcing accordingly.
- Prepare regular operational and compliance reports for senior management.
Team Management & Travel
- Provide daily support to team leads and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Travel quarterly to key locations for team oversight and leadership meetings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in fintech, digital payments, e-commerce, or regulated financial services.
- Prior experience with VASP-licensed entities, EMIs, or PSPs is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of compliance, AML/CTF regulations, and digital asset operations.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Hands-on mentality with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); other languages are a plus.
- Ability to travel internationally on a quarterly basis.
