Senior Automation Engineer – Oracle DBA IRC268003

Description

We are a cross-functional international team collaborating across the globe on a major insurance product with integrated e-billing functionality.

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with Oracle DBA expertise to join our infrastructure and automation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Oracle databases while leveraging modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and other automation frameworks to streamline deployment, configuration, and operations.This is a hybrid role requiring strong Oracle database administration experience alongside deep proficiency in automating infrastructure and application delivery pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA (11g, 12c, or later).
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Puppet in production environments.
• Solid scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems administration.
• Strong understanding of backup/recovery processes, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, and Oracle RAC.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating infrastructure automation into DevOps workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience in containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OEM.
• Knowledge of security best practices for database and infrastructure automation.
  
  
  

Job responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases in development, test, and production environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Puppet, and related tools.
• Automate provisioning, patching, backup, and monitoring processes for Oracle environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Application Development teams to improve system reliability and delivery velocity.
• Participate in performance tuning, database optimization, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Oracle DB performance, availability, and security.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including SOPs, architecture diagrams, and configuration management records.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution.
