Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Python-based backend development and a strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, API design, and asynchronous programming. You will contribute to building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services that power our enterprise applications.

Your Role

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Architect and implement RESTful APIs with robust authentication and SSO mechanisms.
• Apply asynchronous programming techniques to optimise performance and responsiveness.
• Interact with databases using SQLAlchemy, ORMs, and raw SQL for efficient data handling.
• Deploy and manage applications using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and Azure Container Apps/AKS.
• Integrate with Azure AD, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Storage for secure identity and data management.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Git for version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  

Your Profile

• Proven experience in backend development using Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
• Strong understanding of API design, including RESTful principles, authentication, and SSO.
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
• Solid experience with database interaction (SQLAlchemy, ORMs, raw SQL).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Functions, Container Apps, AKS.
• Familiarity with Azure AD, Key Vault, and Storage integration.
• Competence in Git workflows and collaborative development practices.
• Experience in writing unit and integration tests.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
