Senior Data Architect

CIGroupEMEA is seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in data engineering to design and implement enterprise-scale data solutions in the Azure ecosystem. You’ll play a pivotal role in building robust pipelines, enabling advanced analytics, and supporting machine learning initiatives. This is a hands-on role for a technical leader who thrives in architecting complex, distributed data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Architecture: Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines for diverse workflows, including system integration, ETL processes, and machine learning infrastructures.
• Data Modeling & Warehousing: Develop and maintain scalable data models and warehouse solutions to support business intelligence and advanced analytics.
• Pipeline Development: Build, optimize, and maintain data integration processes across the organization.
• Leadership & Best Practices: Lead the Data team, set engineering standards, and promote data-driven decision-making.
• Deployment & Reliability: Implement CI/CD pipelines for large, scalable data systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: 5+ years as a Data Engineer or Data Architect in a similar role.
• Core Skills: Data modeling, warehousing, and pipeline building.
• Programming: Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Cloud Expertise: Proven experience with the Azure ecosystem (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Azure Monitor).
• Big Data & Processing: PySpark, Delta Lake, Apache Spark.
• Workflow Orchestration: Airflow (or equivalent).
• APIs & Integration: REST, SOAP, RPC.
• Distributed Systems: Strong understanding of architecture and scalability in large systems.
• Database Experience: Teradata SQL, MS SQL, IBM DB2, or similar dialects.
• Visualization: Experience in dashboard creation and Microsoft Power BI.
• Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with telecom, mobile provider, ISP, or cable data.
• Collaboration: Proven experience working with and supporting data science teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Streaming event data processing.
• Azure certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• CI/CD for large-scale data systems.
