Lead C++ Developer

We are seeking an experienced Lead C++ Developer to spearhead the modernization of a complex legacy application currently deployed in an on-premise environment.

This position includes migrating services to a Linux-based AWS cloud platform, reengineering existing codebases, and streamlining database operations. Collaborate with our team to introduce innovative solutions and ensure optimum system scalability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the legacy application architecture and outline strategies for modernization
• Validate proposed modernization technologies through Proof of Concepts (PoCs)
• Migrate application services to a Linux-based AWS cloud platform with containerization technologies
• Refactor C and C++ codebases for better performance, maintainability, and scalability
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins with automated builds and testing functionality
• Collaborate with the database team to move Oracle databases to Oracle RDS or Aurora DB while maintaining data integrity
• Document workflows, architectural updates, and troubleshooting notes while providing consistent progress reports
• Identify and resolve technical challenges during migration and development activities
• Transition MVS Mainframe services to integrate with the custom communication protocol

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience, with expertise in C and C++ (COM and COM Interop)
• 1+ years of leadership experience in technical projects
• Familiarity with both on-premise Windows environments and Linux systems
• Knowledge of Oracle databases, including transitioning to Oracle RDS or Aurora DB
• Proficiency in AWS cloud platforms and containerization tools like Docker
• Competency in creating and managing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• Skills in performance optimization, including profiling, identifying bottlenecks, and code refactoring
• Effective English communication skills (minimum B2 level)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Java or C# utilized in legacy systems
• Background in managing proprietary application servers and communication protocols
• Experience modernizing mainframe services to cloud platforms
• Understanding of Oracle database schema consolidation and cursor management
