Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a team working on a data migration project. The main goal is to extract semi-structured data from Quip documents and insert it into a relational database for use with a managed web application. While some automation already exists, the tooling requires fixes and improvements to ensure accuracy and handle discrepancies in the data.

The role includes taking over large parts of an existing project, implementing new functionality, and integrating asynchronously with the frontend via REST API / JSON. Strong collaboration and attention to detail are essential, as well as availability to work with the client between 7:00-9:00 pm EEST.

Responsibilities

• Extract semi-structured data and transform it for insertion into relational databases.
• Enhance and maintain existing automation tools for data migration.
• Design and implement new functionality for backend services.
• Integrate with frontend systems via REST APIs and JSON.
• Deploy and manage services using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the allocated PST overlap.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience with Postgres and relational databases.
• Strong skills in Java, Spring Boot and REST API development.
• Understanding of HTML, DOM structure, JSON, and experience parsing HTML into data structures.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and related systems.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment with partial time-zone overlap (till 9pm EEST)
