Job Description

The role of a Junior System Administrator is to help ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the company and to carry out tasks assigned by the IT Team Lead. A good command of English at B1+ level is required (reading and understanding instructions, handling correspondence).

Hardware And Software Sustainability

Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, networks, servers, and virtualisation;

Support the Company’s staff by ensuring that desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment issues are resolved promptly and with minimal disruption;

Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes;

Set up new workstations and IT equipment, create user accounts and access rights, and install required software (Microsoft Windows, Office, Teams, OneDrive, Google Suite);

Troubleshoot IT issues and outages within the Company;

Support possible IT infrastructure and equipment relocations;

Arrange IT equipment repair works;

Arrange systems update with new releases and models;

Provide antivirus and security checks;

Providing reports to team leader on work done.

IT Infrastructure

Maintain the essentials, including operating systems, business applications, security tools, web servers, email systems, PCs, and both local (LAN) and wide area (WAN) networks – covering hardware and software – as well as mid-range server hardware;

Manage network servers and core technology tools to ensure consistent and reliable operation;

Participate in IT infrastructure integration, migration, and unification projects when required;

Handle databases, networks (LAN/WAN), and perform patch management to maintain security and performance;

Ensure IT security through robust access controls, regular backups, and properly configured firewalls;

Carry out regular backup operations and implement processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures;

Take responsibility for capacity and storage planning, monitoring database performance, and optimising where necessary.
