Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Proposal Writer to join EPSA’s Ukrainian grants team. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, structuring, and refining high-quality grant proposals for national and international donors, based on project concepts, technical inputs, and guidance provided by Grants Managers and subject-matter experts. The role focuses on transforming complex project ideas and technical information into clear, coherent, and donor-compliant written proposals, ensuring strong narrative logic, clarity, and consistency across applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grant Proposal Writing: Develop high-quality narrative sections of grant applications, including problem statements, project descriptions, methodologies, impact, sustainability, and organizational capacity sections.
• Proposal Structuring and Narrative Logic: Ensure clear logical flow and internal consistency across proposal sections, in line with donor guidelines, evaluation criteria, and results-based frameworks. Structure proposal content so that project logic, assumptions, and results chains are clearly articulated and easy for evaluators to follow.
• Donor Alignment: Adapt proposal language, tone, and structure to specific donor requirements, including EU programs, international financial institutions, bilateral donors, foundations, and international organizations.
• Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with Grants Managers, technical experts, and finance specialists to integrate technical inputs, project logic, and budget narratives into a coherent and consistent proposal document. Clarify missing or unclear inputs with internal teams to ensure narrative accuracy and completeness.
• Quality Control: Review and edit proposal drafts to ensure consistency, accuracy, compliance, and high editorial standards in both English and Ukrainian. . Ensure consistent terminology, messaging, and formatting across all proposal sections.
• Knowledge Management: Contribute to the development and maintenance of proposal templates, standard narrative sections, and reusable content blocks, in coordination with the grants team. Support internal knowledge-sharing by helping systematize effective language, structures, and best practices used in successful proposals.
• Deadline Management: Support timely submission of grant applications, managing multiple parallel deadlines and priorities.

Candidate Requirements:

• Education: Higher education in international relations, public policy, economics, social sciences, communications, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, or related roles within consulting firms, NGOs, donor-funded projects, or international organizations.
• Grant Writing Skills: Proven ability to write clear, structured, and persuasive grant narratives for international donors. understanding of logical frameworks, results-based approaches, and donor evaluation criteria is a strong advantage.
• Language Skills: Fluent English (at least C1) and Ukrainian ; strong writing and editing skills in English are essential.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy, consistency, and discipline in working with complex documents and donor requirements.
• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and translate technical input into accessible, donor-friendly language.
