Business Analyst / Product Owner

A greenfield Azure data platform build involving the design and construction of a new enterprise data platform from scratch. There is no maintenance phase — the engagement is focused purely on design and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to clarify requirements and identify gaps.
• Produce clear, agreed requirements ready for technical delivery teams.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to support solution design.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and manage expectations with professionalism and diplomacy.
• Work independently in a corporate environment, driving discovery and requirements through to completion.
  
  

Requirements

• 6+ years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally on data platform or data engineering projects.
• Proven experience leading discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into clear user stories and functional documentation for development and QA teams.
• Experience working on greenfield implementations is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or Purview.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with end-to-end requirements management.
• Understanding of APIs, relational databases, and modern data platform concepts.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently within a distributed team.

• Basic SQL skills.
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Qlik Sense, or Tableau.
• Experience acting as a Technical Product Owner or in a similar delivery-focused role.
