Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer to lead a critical architectural transition for our client’s platform. The project involves a rewrite of a web backend into a modern, scalable Python architecture. You will be responsible for designing the new backend foundation, ensuring seamless data flow, and establishing best practices for the new tech stack. Any experience with Angular is a significant plus to help bridge the gap with the frontend ecosystem.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and its core backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask).
• Proven track record of designing, building, and scaling complex REST APIs.
• Experience working with AWS SDKs, specifically for S3 (multi-part uploads, pre-signed URLs), and a good understanding of core cloud concepts.
• Familiarity with IoT messaging patterns (MQTT) and secure communication over restricted networks is highly desirable.
• Experience integrating with authentication providers (such as Amazon Cognito, Auth0, or similar).
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and documented code, with an understanding of how to build reusable libraries (SDKs).
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently on assigned modules while aligning with the overall architectural vision.
• Nice-to-have practical experience with Angular for building responsive, modern single-page applications (SPAs).
  
  
  

Job responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end architectural design and execution of rewriting the existing web backend into Python.
• Develop robust, highly scalable, and secure RESTful APIs using modern Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Design and optimize database structures to support the new backend performance requirements.
• Establish and enforce code quality, testing standards, and CI/CD pipelines for the new Python environment.
• Collaborate closely with product stakeholders and frontend developers to ensure smooth integration with the existing Angular client.
• Identify and resolve potential data bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities during the migration process.
