The Associated Press seeks a talented multiformat journalist to cover Ukraine as an English language reporter on a one-year fixed-term basis.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Ukraine news director and based in Kyiv, this reporter will work closely with AP colleagues, AP’s Europe Africa region and across the globe, aiming to produce distinct, deeply reported and visually driven journalism from Ukraine. In this role, you will be comfortable working in and working with multiple media formats, for both breaking and enterprise stories. You must be a self-starter who can generate ideas that resonate in Ukraine, elsewhere in Europe and around the world. The position will involve occasional travel, and you should be prepared to do so on short notice as news needs arise. Candidates will be expected to cover the desk to report daily news developments, attend press conferences and briefings and cover breaking news which can happen 24/7 with a flexible approach.
