Field Application Engineer

Job Description

Tulip Tech is a Dutch manufacturer of high-performance batteries for drones. Its technology enables UAVs to fly 30–100% longer than with standard batteries and is already used by Ukrainian military units and leading UAV companies. The company is rapidly scaling its operations in Ukraine, the Netherlands, across Europe, and the United States, with a mission to strengthen European security and support Ukraine's fight for independence.

As Field Application Engineer for our Ukraine office, you will be part of a hands-on technical-commercial team bringing Tulip Tech's latest battery technology directly to customers, partners and end-users. You will spend a significant part of your time in the field, demonstrating and testing new solutions, supporting UAV teams and helping customers find the right battery solution for their application.

This is not a traditional desk-based engineering role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being close to the technology and the people using it, who can solve practical problems on the spot and who is motivated by turning technical conversations and field feedback into better products and new commercial opportunities.

What will you do?

• travel to customers, government partners and end-users to demonstrate, test and validate Tulip Tech battery solutions in real-world environments
• support the integration, testing and optimization of batteries for different UAV platforms and troubleshoot technical issues in the field
• introduce customers to new and experimental battery solutions and help them identify the best configuration for their application
• understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions, product requirements and potential commercial opportunities
• collect and structure technical feedback, measurements and observations and share clear recommendations with the engineering and commercial teams
• work closely with the engineering and sales teams in Ukraine and the Netherlands to support customer projects and accelerate product development
• after technical training, assemble, modify and prepare battery packs and prototypes when required, including practical build or configuration work close to the customer
  
  

Job Requirements

What are we looking for?

• Technical education in engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable technical field
• Strong interest in combining technical expertise with customer interaction, sales and business development
• Hands-on technical mindset and the ability to understand, explain and solve technical challenges in a practical way
• Confident communicator who enjoys working directly with customers, end-users and technical stakeholders
• Commercially minded and able to recognise customer needs, new applications and business opportunities during technical discussions
• Proactive, independent and structured, with the ability to document field observations and translate them into clear follow-up actions
• Experience with UAVs, drones, batteries, electronics, power systems, technical sales or field applications is a strong advantage
