Quality Support Engineer

Team Summary

We are an Emulated Data Collection team responsible for gathering essential data for a variety of programs. Our work focuses heavily on smart home and IoT security devices, encompassing both commercially available products and devices in early-stage development. To capture this data, we emulate real-world events using custom actions or predefined scenarios to create the exact conditions required. Our data collection takes place indoors and outdoors across diverse lighting and weather conditions. Throughout these scenarios, we interact with a wide range of subjects and objects, including people, cars, animals, packages, and custom objects such as doors, windows, and specific vehicle parts.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Support Engineer to drive hardware readiness, manage equipment inventory, and provide technical field support for our data collection operations. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end technical preparation for project launches, taking ownership of flashing, configuring, and assembling hardware setups, as well as troubleshooting equipment issues for our field engineers. The ideal candidate is a practical, self-driven specialist with a solid foundation in QA, hardware, or network basics. If you are someone who can confidently manage physical hardware installations, work independently to keep project equipment fully operational, and thrive in a hands-on technical environment, this role is a great fit for you.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Flash, configure, and assemble hardware and device setups for project launches
• Provide hands-on field support, remote troubleshooting, and technical onboarding for engineers
• Perform physical hardware and network installations using power tools
• Manage full inventory tracking and maintenance for all office and field equipment
• Mitigate technical risks (e.g., backup power, spare devices) and administer team accounts
• Draft technical SOPs using AI tools (e.g., Cursor) and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Background in QA, hardware, software, or network basics
• Familiarity with smart home, IoT, or embedded devices
• Hands-on proficiency with power tools (drilling, mounting, etc.) for physical setups
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, and AI tools
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
• At least B1 level of English
  
  

Nice to have

• Practical experience with CAD and 3D printing to create custom mounts, brackets, or protective cases
• Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python) or foundational system administration experience
