Purpose Of Role

• Assume overall responsibility for accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial and tax reports
• Assume and has overall responsibility for statutory and formal tax compliance of the company.
  
  

Principal Responsibilities

• Organizes statutory accounting, ensuring accurate financial accounting according to national standards and Law "On accounting", defining of the accounting policy and ensuring aligning to the policy.
• Supports and controls tax practices of the Company in accordance with tax regulations
• Provides day-to-day leadership and people management for a team of three direct reports
• Coach and develop the team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Development/control of the primary documents flow
• Ensures accurate and timely reporting/filing based on local statutory and regulatory requirements
• Statutory Financial statements – quarterly and yearly
• Statistical monthly, quarterly and yearly reports
• Sign off VAT returns – monthly, prepared by Tax Specialist
• Sign off Corporate Income Tax returns – quarterly and yearly, prepared by Tax Specialist
• Sign off Personal income tax and social contributions reports – monthly, prepared by Tax Specialist
• Supervise the team of three direct reports in preparation of various validations and tax documentation mainly related to VAT reporting
• Works closely with Transfer Pricing team to meet TP compliance and provides statutory/tax data to TP team on request
• Carries out National tax audits and obligatory Statutory Financial statements audits, Social Security fund audits, Other regulatory inspections
• Carries out communication and correspondence with Local Authorities (Tax inspection, Pension fund, Soc. Security fund, Statistics), ensures timely replies to Tax Authorities letters/requests
• Checking, signing, approving, sending (submission) through MEDOC platform (Reports: Payroll, Statistical, Financial Statements, Labor, Transfer Pricing).
• Works with GBS Finance Staff located in Poland to deliver an efficient and effective operation to the Finance organization
• Payments authorizations
• Ensures professional trainings are available to staff when appropriate and according to corporate Amway guidelines.
  
  

Required Knowledge & Skills and/or Related Experience: Required Qualifications:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification or equivalent relevant experience, including experience in a senior accounting role; previous experience as a Chief Accountant or Deputy Chief Accountant in Ukraine is preferred.
• Excellent practical knowledge of Ukrainian statutory accounting standards, financial reporting requirements and applicable tax legislation.
• Hands-on experience in financial reporting, including Ukrainian statutory and tax reporting
• Experience working with tax authorities, external auditors and regulatory bodies; ability to identify and escalate accounting and tax risks
• Ability to monitor changes in Ukrainian accounting and tax legislation and assess their impact on the business
• Leadership skills, ability to influence others and end-to-end ownership mindset
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, managing statutory, tax and corporate deadlines
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and sound professional judgment
• Experience with ERP accounting systems; Oracle EBS preferred as well as Ukrainian electronic tax and statutory reporting systems
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and communicate with senior stakeholders
• Process excellence mindset; proactive, self-reliant and highly motivated
• Strong business English, both written and spoken, another European language as an asset
