Job Title: Social Performance Manager
The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of social components within Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainability projects. The Social Manager will focus on topics related to human capital, corporate social responsibility, human rights, Gender-Based Violence and Harassment (GBVH), labor standards, and broader stakeholder engagement practices. The role includes direct communication with clients, support in training development and delivery, preparation of project-related documentation, and research in line with international standards and best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and support the implementation of social components of ESG projects, including labor rights, diversity and inclusion, gender equality, GBVH prevention, and stakeholder engagement.
Prepare and revise internal corporate documents (e.g., social responsibility policies, codes of conduct, grievance procedures, human rights commitments, GBVH policies, and workforce/stakeholder engagement plans) in accordance with international standards (e.g., IFC PS, EBRD PR, UNGPs).
Participate in social due diligence (SDD) or broader Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) processes by conducting desktop reviews, collecting supporting documents, participating in interviews and site visits, and drafting social assessments.
Support the development and delivery of trainings on social topics, including GBVH, community engagement, human rights, and workplace behavior standards.
Coordinate the documentation and timeline of project deliverables, ensuring accuracy and completeness of social-related reports, action plans, and stakeholder communication materials.
Prepare client presentations, proposals, and summaries, clearly communicating social impact findings, risk assessments, and recommended mitigation measures.
Monitor developments in national and international regulations, sustainability frameworks, and industry standards in the areas of labor, human rights, gender, and social responsibility.
Contribute to the preparation of articles, briefings, or analytical reviews on relevant social issues and trends in sustainability.
Participate in field visits and stakeholder meetings, supporting qualitative data collection and engagement processes.
Provide cross-functional administrative and professional support to project teams as needed.
Competencies
Strong understanding of social aspects of sustainability, including human rights, labor standards, gender equity, and stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with international frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), and SDGs.
Experience in project coordination and documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both formal reporting and stakeholder dialogue.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail, with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Understanding of GBVH prevention and response frameworks is an asset.
Experience with social data collection tools, consultation planning, or grievance mechanisms is desirable.
